Facebook Numbers

Recently, I saw this chart on Facebook. There is no source, and I'm not certain to which year it refers. I'm not certain how the comparison districts were chosen. They are described as 'surrounding' but that is certainly not geographically the best description.

Interestingly, all four of the comparison districts have been unable to open their middle schools to in-person instruction for all students every day like North Shore has. (Source: https://projects.newsday.com/databases/long-island/instructional-models-of-li-schools/)

North Shore does have more resources than many districts and importantly focuses those resources on our students. Here's a different perspective on that chart:

Importantly, if we look at the tax levy rates for all school districts in Town of Oyster Bay, we can see our rates are nonetheless lower than most.

You can see an in-depth comparison of North Shore and Manhasset here.

There's no explanation for the math on the claimed tax cut. You can see how to calculate the impact of budget cuts here.
